Someday, they’re just gonna kill each other ……… Mean OC Mom

July 30, 2008 at 10:48 pm (Family, Life, Parenting, mom) (, , , , )

My boy is a little under the weather today (NO I’M NOT , MOM!!!) and so has been picking fights with his sister all day. I know you moms out there know the drill. He does just enough of an annoying thing over and over again until she slugs/pinches/kicks him, then he screams like his hair is on fire, setting of the she-hit-me/he-deserves-it shouting debate. Earlier in the day I just sent them both packing to their rooms. Now I’m just sending her. Not fair? Maybe, but because she’s older, she hits harder.

Earthquake!! Mean OC Mom: Hands shaking, kids safe …

July 29, 2008 at 2:57 pm (Family, Friends, Life, Parenting, mom) (, , , )

We just had a BIG earthquake – At first I thought my girlfriend, sitting next to me, was rocking the bench we were sitting on. Then came the big shaking. All the little girls seated outside having lunch started to stand up. I yelled, “Stay where you are!!” Then I began shouting for my little boy.   He wasnt’ answering, so I was just about to race inside to rescue him (which is the worst thing to do in an earthquake).  He came around the corner of the yard just in time!  I first felt it under my feet and looked around at the other moms and kids gathered around eating lunch outdoors.  Because nobody else reacted, I thought maybe I was dizzy or something.  Just when I was about to say something, the ground started really shaking.

I’m taking the kids to the Getty Museum today and the little one wants to know, “What are we ‘posed to do at the pasgetti museum?” These are the cute little things a mom hopes to never forget! One of the sweet rewards.
